That’s an opinion Mr. HeavyRiffs, one I would actually agree with. But stating that the above is a ‘rosy red outlook’ for reporting simple facts (Mancini DID SAY Tevez would never play for City again and DID SAY he doesn’t think Balotelli will play again this season) is little short of outright paranoia.

Mancini only stated that he doubted Balotelli would play again yhis season, as the media were scrambling for a lengthy ban for him. Mancini only said Tevez wouldn’t play for the club again, immediately following the Bayern game, when tensions were high. He made it clear in the days that followed, that Tevez could play again if he apologised.
But why let facts get in the way of your rosy red outlook.

couple of points though.
- The tempo of the passing game was really slow, especially after the Club WC. Ealier, teams used to say we know what Barca is going to do, but its impossible to stop them – because we made slick passes at a very high tempo. Recently, this tempo has been really poor and knowing what Barca want to do and aided by the slow rate, teams can easily stop our game on or before the penalty box. With all my respects to Xavi, I am afraid, he is responsible for this mostly. See how our tempo is higher when Thiago is involved. At the same time, Thiago cannot control our game any where with the effectiveness of Xavi.

- When Barca plays its best game, we can notice a lot of off the ball movements by players other than Messi. We hardly see them now, especially in this last week. Also notice how far away Alves and Messi are playing from each other – in the final third. The inter play between these two are very important in our attack, but of late they are too far away from each other

@ Mike Roberts – You’re right. As I pointed out on Twitter during the game last night, Barca have conceded at home in 9 of their last 13 games at Camp Nou, including 3 vs Granada. Which is why I was convinced Chelsea would score at least one no matter the outcome.

Guardiola only think that barca could beat all of their opponents with streching enemy defense horizontaly. He forgot another options to streching verticaly.

Excellent piece of analysis. The point about the defence is spot on – they’ve definitely declined at home in that area: since beating Osasuna in the Copa Del Rey in Janaury they’ve kept three clean sheets in twelve home games. Before that match they’d kept eight consecutive clean sheets at Camp Nou.

After the first 3 seasons where Pep used the 4-3-3 formation for 99% of games and had ridiculous amounts of success with it I am surprised to see him tinker with it a lot this season. But I can understand why, keep opposing managers guessing and not find a formula to stop Barca. The 3-4-3 formation Barca look less fluid, the midfield and attack looks to congested and also big gaps at the back for teams to exploit especially with pace. But Barca are still the best team in the world and I am sure they will come back next season stronger than ever and raring to go. Visca El Barcaaaaa!!!!!
