Everton, Man United and Blackpool gave us another winning week last weekend. This week the FA Cup is one of the most interesting in a long time and there are plenty of opportunities still in the Premier League.
All the odds quoted are available at time of writing on the In Play specialists, 188BET
May 14th to 15th
Blackpool to beat Bolton @ 2.21
Bolton have taken one point and scored four goals in their last 11 away games. Blackpool have shown enough in their last three games to suggest that survival is possible. Three points are vital here.
West Brom and Everton to draw at 3.30
Everton have drawn eight of the 14 games they have played against sides below West Brom in the table. The hosts defeat to Wolves last week was their first to a side outside the top 5 since Roy Hodgson took over. They have drawn three of their last five home games.
Stoke (+0.5) Vs Man City @ 2.05
Stoke and Man City have been very evenly matched in recent years with three 1-1 draws and a Stoke win in the last four games. City have more pressure on them and Stoke played well enough at Wembley in the semi final and against Arsenal last week to suggest they can cause what would be less of an upset than the odds suggest.
Chelsea to beat Newcastle 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 @ 2.51
Chelsea remain too strong at home for a Newcastle side that has scored the fewest away goals in the League. All seven wins against sides above Newcastle, and each of their last four wins against Sunday’s opponents have been covered by these three scores so there is value in 6/4 as opposed to 1 / 4.
Birmingham and Fulham to draw @ 3.35
This would be the seventh away draw from seven games against the bottom seven clubs this season. A point will likely be enough for Birmingham to survive and as the lowest home scorers in the league with two wins from their last ten, it may be the height of their ambition.
Wigan to beat West Ham @ 2.15
West Ham have lost five of their last six games and seemingly their belief in survival. Wigan are still scrapping and this would be a fifth win from seven at home to sides in the bottom eight.
Elsewhere
I think that Aston Villa are a big price to beat Arsenal on Sunday. One win and two draws from their last four visits allied to Arsenal’s poor end of season form makes 10.0 a speculative punt. Man United have only won two of 13 away games against sides above Blackburn. A draw makes them Champions and might be enough for Blackburn’s survival. Finally Spur’s last win at Anfield was in 1993 and with the Reds starting well and Spurs conceding over half of their last 17 goals before the break, odds of 3.10 about a HT/FT lead for the home side are worth a second look.
