Weekend Six Pack – Diving into ‘Pools away from home, draws appeal at Wembley and San Siro
Each week Rob Hartnett from 188BET.com will bring you six of the best football betting opportunities from the weekend action. Rob is the public face of the leading In Play betting specialists and appears regularly on the Bolton, Wigan, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Everton websites doing betting previews.
We had five winners from six bets last week for a profit of 120 per cent, following on from four the previous week and a 70 per cent profit.
This weekend the attention turns back to domestic action across Europe and there are some great games to take a look at.
All the odds quoted are available at time of writing on the In Play specialists, 188BET
April 2nd to 4th
Everton to beat Aston Villa 2-0 or 2-1 at odds of 3.90
Aston Villa go into this game off the back of three defeats. Everton took ten points from a possible 12 before the break and have won six of eight home games against sides ranked between 5th and 15th. They are odds on to win the game but there is better value in going for a correct score combination of 2-0 and 2-1 wins at odds of nearly 4.00. They would have covered seven of Everton’s nine wins this season.
Leeds to beat Nottm Forest at 2.28
Both sides are battling for a promotion spot but Forest are without a win in seven games and their away form is far inferior to Leeds performances at Elland Road. Leeds took 17 points from the reverse of the fixtures they have left, Forest a mere nine. From an In Play perspective watch out in the middle third of the second half when Leeds have both scored and conceded more than at any other period in their games.
Liverpool to beat West Brom at 2.30
Much has been said of the Roy Hodgson issue but that will be left on the sideline and the game itself leans very much towards Liverpool. They have won an incredible 13 straight games against the Baggies and have not conceded in ten. Add to that current form where the home side could not keep clean sheets against Birmingham, Stoke or Wolves and that Liverpool have scored seven in their last four away and the odds look too big.
AC Milan and Inter Milan to draw at 3.00
What a game to welcome back Serie A. This is likely to determine the outcome of the title and is very finely poised. Inter have the momentum but are missing Lucio to suspension which may prompt them to be more cautious in midfield. Milan are without Zlatan Ibrahimovic and are have not win in three League games. A draw would steady the ship and with their having been only one share of the spoils in the last 16 clashes, a point a piece is overdue.
Brentford and Carlisle to draw in 90 minutes at 3.20
The final of the Johnstones Paint Trophy at Wembley brings together two sides locked in mid table on 52 points apiece. Brentford may have the slight edge having won the League One clash two weeks ago and with Carlisle having to play at Yeovil in midweek but three of the last six finals in this tournament have gone to extra time and the Bees needed to win three penalty shoot outs in previous rounds to get this far.
Blackpool to beat Fulham at 5.80 (half stake on Blackpool +1 at 2.03)
I think Fulham will be very close to going down and this is a massive game for both sides. Charlie Adam’s fitness is a big boost for the Seasiders who have won more away games than any side out of the top five. The win odds are too big at 5.80 but the sensible bet is to split your stake between that and the +1 Asian Handicap market. That would give a small profit even in the event of a draw and half your stake back if they lose by one.
