Weekend Six Pack – QPR to extend gap, Inter Milan to close it
Each week Rob Hartnett from 188BET.com will bring you six of the best football betting opportunities from the weekend action. Rob is the public face of leading the leading In Play betting specialists and appears regularly on the Bolton, Wigan, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Everton websites doing betting previews.
Everton, Man City and Wigan gave us some good Asian Handicap winners last weekend while those betting In Play will have had great opportunity to lock in profits on Sunderland, Arsenal and Aston Villa on what proved to be a crazy day of action in the Barclays Premier League.
This weekend we broaden our horizons to take in the best of the Premier League, the top of the Championship and the derby Italia.
February 12th – 13th
Blackburn to beat Newcastle @ 2.20
Blackburn’s away woes continue to find us winners but at home they are a much stronger proposition. They have won five and drawn two at home to sides below Newcastle, while Alan Pardew’s side have suffered four defeats away at the same group. Add in that Blackburn have won six straight against Newcastle and odds against looks big.
Liverpool to beat Wigan 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 at odds of 2.35
If the table was determined just by games since Kenny Dalglish took over at Anfield, Liverpool would be top. They have now won four straight without conceding and could move within one game of fifth place with a win here. Nine of their 11 wins have been to nil though they have yet to score more than three in the League. Wigan’s four defeats to top six sides have also been to nil to taking the combination of correct score bets is a good way to get with the Reds.
Sunderland and Tottenham to draw @ 3.25
Sunderland have a good record at home to Spurs winning three and drawing two of the last five. Both have drawn only one fewer than they have won at home and away respectively and this could even up the numbers. If you are betting In Play take heed that Sunderland top the table for dropping points while leading and Spurs are the side who have rescued most from losing positions. A 1-1 draw is a tempting 6.50 chance.
Bolton and Everton to Draw @ 3.25
Bolton are unbeaten in 13 games against sides in the bottom half of the table. Everton have only won twice away from Goodison in the league but have only lost twice since the end of August. Watch out In Play for the fact that Everton have not lost a game this season where they have been level at the breaking, winning four and drawing eight.
QPR to beat Nottm Forest @ 2.25
Forest would close to four points of QPR at the top with two games in hand but Rangers are seven points clear with good reason. They have the best home record in the division conceding only 10 goals. Forest’s form has built on performances against sides in the wrong half of the table. They have won only once away from home in seven against sides in the top 13 while they have only won once at home to sides in the top 7.
Inter Milan to beat Juventus @ 2.60
The Derby Italia would have looked different if played before the winter break but the fortunes of the sides since January have been markedly different. Juve were unbeaten in 13 before the break but the loss of Quagliarella has been a blow and they have lost four of the seven games since. Inter on the under hand changed manager from Rafa to Leonardo and have won seven from eight, scoring an incredible 24 goals.
