Weekend Six Pack – Goodison goals, do or die Wolves and a Roman holiday

29 Jan, 2011 Rob Hartnett England, Italy

Each week Rob Hartnett from www.188BET.com brings you six of the best football betting opportunities from the weekend action.  Rob is the public face of leading the leading In Play betting specialists and appears regularly on the Bolton, Wigan, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Everton websites doing betting previews.  You can follow his thoughts on Twitter @HartnettRob

Last Saturday was not a great one but since then we have put up bets in seven games and produced five winners, including correct score bets at QPR and Arsenal, at odds of between 2.11 and 3.85.  It’s FA Cup time again this weekend in England, and with full League programmes across Europe, there are plenty of bets to catch the eye.

January 29th to 30th

Everton and Chelsea +2.5 goals at 2.03

Chelsea have now scored 13 in three games while Everton have scored 11 and conceded 7 in their last four.  The last six meetings between the sides have been tight with four draws and one home win apiece and the last four have generated 14 goals.  Three or more goals should be odds on in my book.

Arsenal to beat Huddersfield by 3 or more at 2.05

Since wobbling at Ipswich and at home to Leeds, Arsenal have won four games scoring three goals in each.  A massive 11 of their 23 wins this season in all competitions have been by at least three goals while Huddersfield have conceded 12 goals in their last four away games.  Their only game against top flight opposition this season ended in a 5-1 defeat at Everton in the Carling Cup.

Wolves to beat Stoke at 2.42

Most are putting this up as a draw but Wolves have only drawn one of their last 21 games against top flight opposition.  The home side will not fancy another replay with survival the top priority so I feel this game will be played with a win or bust mentality.  They beat Stoke at home on the opening day of the season and while they have subsequently lost three at home to sides below Stoke, the potters themselves have lost four of five away games at bottom half sides.

Fulham and Spurs to draw at 3.25

Spurs away frailties were exposed again last weekend when lucky to snatch a point away to Newcastle.  With Premier league and Champions’ league fixtures coming up it is tough to call how they will approach this game but London Pride and a great cup tradition for club and manager should keep them up for it.  They have though only won three of their last ten away and 2.30 makes little appeal.  Four of the last six meetings at Craven Cottage have finished level, including in the FA Cup last season. Déjà vu.

Lazio to beat Fiorentino at 2.14

Fiorentina are unbeaten in four games but were fortunate last week against Lecce and have yet to win away from Florence this season. Lazio won the reverse fixture 2-1 at the start of the season and while their Serie A position has fallen lately they remain a force at the Stadio Olimpico where they have beaten Napoli, Inter Milan and Udinese in recent games.  Odds against was a pleasant surprise.

Dortmund (-0.5/1) to beat Wolfsburg at 2.07

Dortmund have lost their 100 per cent away record but still took out Leverkusen after the defeat at Frankfurt and remain 11 points clear in the Bundesliga having won nine of ten away games, seven of them by two goals or more.  Wolfsburg have become draw specialists with seven straight before last weekend’s win at Mainz.  They have not won at home since October and you can get odds against Dortmund winning with half you stake a winner and half back with a single goal win and the full stake a winner with a two or more goal margin of victory.

Away from the six pack some correct scores that may be worth a dabble over the weekend include Bolton 2 Wigan 1 at 8.50; Aston Villa 3 Blackburn 1 at 13.0; Notts County 0 Man City 2 at 7.50; Torquay 1 Crawley 2 at 14.0; Southampton 1 Man United 3 at 10.0 and West Ham 1 Nottm Forest 1 at 6.50.
