After an entertaining set of final qualifiers, the Champions League 2010/2011 proper is good and ready to go. Ajax, Tottenham, Werder Bremen, Auxerre, Partizan Belgrade, Sporting Braga, MSK Zilina, FC Copenhagen, Hapoel Tel-Aviv and FC Basle have all made it past the final hurdle through to the group stages, and there they are joined by the other 22 automatic qualifiers. The 32 teams are all split into four different pots depending on their seedings, based on UEFA coefficients that tally over a number of years. It is for this reason that teams like FC Twente, Dutch champions in 2009/10, are seeded lower than Ajax.
Here are the teams comprising the four pots:
Pot 1: AC Milan, Arsenal, FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Manchester United, Olympique Lyonnais
Pot 2: Benfica, Olympique Marseille, Panathinaikos, Werder Bremen, AS Roma, Real Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk, Valencia
Pot 3: Ajax, FC Basle, Sporting Braga, FC Copenhagen, Glasgow Rangers, Schalke 04, Spartak Moscow, Tottenham Hotspur
Pot 4: Auxerre, Bursaspor, Hapoel Tel-Aviv, FC Twente, Rubin Kazan, CFR Cluj, Partizan Belgrade, MSK Zilina
And here is the draw for the group stage:
Group A: Inter Milan, Werder Bremen, Tottenham Hotspur, FC Twente
Group B: Olympique Lyonnais, Benfica, Schalke 04, Hapoel Tel-Aviv
Group C: Manchester United, Valencia, Glasgow Rangers, Bursaspor
Group D: FC Barcelona, Panathinaikos, FC Copenhagen, Rubin Kazan
Group E: Bayern Munich, AS Roma, FC Basle, CFR Cluj
Group F: Chelsea, Olympique Marseille, Spartak Moscow, MSK Zilina
Group G: AC Milan, Real Madrid, Ajax, Auxerre
Group H: Arsenal, Shakhtar Donetsk, Sporting Braga, Partizan Belgrade
Let us know your thoughts on the draw below. For me, Group G is beautiful.
Champions League, Europe, Inter Milan

Group A is a killer
OMG!…poor Tottenham, what an Intro to Champions league football!
I fear for my beloved Milan! Real Madrid?!

lets hope my beloved tottenham will make it through they deserve it,there playing better then ever,up the lilliwhites
Have to say I’m pretty happy with this draw as a Chelsea fan. Hopefully against Slovak side Zilina we may see two more 6-0s.
Group D is the group of champions. Barcelona, Panathinaikos, Rubin Kazan and FC Copenhagen all won their domestic titles last season and group D is the only group to feature four league champions.
