Official: Reinaldo Rueda will not continue with Honduras
Well…just hours ago, Reinaldo Rueda held a press conference regarding his future as, head coach of Honduras. With not much surprise Reinaldo Rueda decided to not continue with Honduras and that he will now explore his options, which include teams in, The Middle East, Ecuador, and Central American teams. He also stated that the entire staff will not continue with Honduras, as they don’t feel comfortable with the situation of staying in Honduras while Rueda and the rest leave.
Rueda’s contract ended as soon as Honduras were eliminated from the World Cup. He also was rumored to be holding discussions with Ecuador regarding the vacancy of the head coaching spot. He said he still has a lot of work to do with the contracts that he’s been offered…he’s already turned down offers in Central America, because he’d feel like he’s disrespecting Honduras by not continuing with us, while moving on to coach a rival team. Any international job offers in Central America have gone out the window.
Rueda brought an entire nation together and laid down promising foundations for Honduras looking to 2014. Hopefully whoever we get as a replacement can finish doing the work of Rueda which is to make us into a World Cup ready team. The lists of potential replacements are Bob Bradley, Carlos Restrepo, Ossie Ardilles, Carlos De Los Cobos, Rodrigo Kenton, and Guimaraes – the ex Costa Rican coach.
With all this said…here’s to Brazil 2014. We start our campaign on September 7th in Montreal against Canada.
Honduras, Reinaldo Rueda

Hector…who replaced Rueda?
