New Burnley Home kit 2010/2011

new Burnley shirt

Will Burnley FC avoid relegation and stay in the Premier League next season? Its looking difficult, but a 4-1 win away at Hull City certainly gives the Clarets hope.

And if Burnley do manage to remain in England’s top flight they will do so sporting a fresh new outfit, as the club’s kit for 2010/2011 was recently revealed.

As modelled above by Andre Bikey, the shirt is a throwback to Burnley’s kit from the 1960/1961 season in which they also wore a similar V-neck design.

Burnley have changed both their kit makers and principal sponsors for next season having signed a 4-year deal with Puma.

The Clarets have also ditched current shirt sponsors Cooke and will be sponsored by Chinese entertainment company Fun88 Sportsbook & Casino next season. “This multi-million-pound deal is clear evidence of the global appeal of Burnley Football Club as a result of our Premier League status,” club chairman Barry Kilby crowed on the club’s official website when the deal was announced. Hmm. That status might be changing pretty soon.

The kit isn’t too bad though. 6.5/10

  1. ‘Global appeal’ may be a bit of a stretch, but a nice bump in sponsorship dollars could help the Clarets bounce right back. Money flowing into the bottom half will hopefully keep raising the standard of play across the league.
