New Ajax Amsterdam Away Kit 2010/2011
Now this is a kit. Ajax Amsterdam have released their official away kit for the 2010/2011 season. And its awesome.
According to the Ajax/Adidas website, the colours are blue and ‘electricity’. Looks like fluorescent yellow to me, but electricity sounds so much better, so we’ll go along with the marketing gimmick and stick with it. Electricity it is.
In fairness, with a kit like that they can call it whatever they want. I really like it. While there are shades of this season’s Chelsea away kit (also designed by Adidas) I get the impression that Adidas weren’t fully satisfied with that effort and continued lab-testing the dark blue and fluorescent yellow electricity design until they got it just the way they wanted. The Ajax kit you see here now is the end result. I for one am impressed. The club crest is prominent, the logo is fairly displayed without being too over-bearing and the customary Adidas three stripes down the shoulders only add to the overall impression.
In my opinion, of all the new 2010/2011 kits we’ve displayed on Just Football so far this one is the best. And doesn’t Luis Suarez look happy in the picture, even though in all probability he won’t be sticking around next season to wear it. Bless.
Overall verdict – a solid 8.6/10.
