We’re a little bit late on this one but I don’t really care as this is quite brilliant. The beauty of Honduras qualifying for the World Cup 2010, as captured by commentators on Honduran radio.

Honduras were 1-0 up away against El Salvador during the final set of CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers, but to secure qualification for South Africa they needed Costa Rica to drop points against USA, which was being played at the same time.

Over in the States, Costa Rica were 2-1 up in stoppage time, and as the clock ticked Honduras were facing the tricky prospect of a playoff with Uruguay, the 5th place team in South America. They needed a second goal from USA, badly. Step up Jonathan Bornstein, who pops up with a last minute equaliser to send Hondurans everywhere crazy:

Honduras will now play in their first World Cup finals for 27 years.
