But even Liverpool winning the title wouldn't have been any great story compared to the likes of AZ and Wolfsburg. Think it pushes all the right buttons; AZ's turnaround after last year's events, McClaren going 4-3-3 upon his arrival in Holland, Van Basten's failure to assert himself as a manager, etc etc. I'm very pleasantly surprised to see a non-Dutchie to have such a good insight into our little league. Note Lyon winning nothing, ditto Bayern Munich, Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord. A great season for the usual winners being humbled and even in England Man Utd were pushed hard by Liverpool.
