Iker Casillas, Miguel Torres, Raúl, Antonio Adán, Guti, Álvaro Arbeloa, Álvaro Negredo, and Esteban Granero. Plus Madrid have had more success in all competitions than Far$a and have won El Clásico more often. Not to mention that our Captain is the all time leading scorer in the Champions league and for Spain. And is the top goal scorer in La Liga that is currently playing (5th overall). Oh and the champions league win will never be fully accredited by true football fans and Far$a should be ashamed.

That's the thing Peter - he is right. I mean I've always been aware that Barca possess a Catalan backbone and a strong emphasis on maintaining their identity, but it was only on reading Laporta's comments and doing the numbers in my head that I realised.

Valdes, Puyol, Pique, Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta and Messi* all came through the ranks at Barcelona. And they also all started the Champions League final. 7 out of 11. That's an incredible ratio for any club really, made even more remarkable when you take into account what they've just achieved.

(* - I know Messi is a slightly different case, but he still grew up at the club).

All you have to do is mention the names of Messi, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta, Carles Puyol, Victor Valdes, Gerard Pique, Bojan Krkic and Sergi busquets and you know Laporta is 100% right. Barcelona is, like their motto says, more than a club it is a country in itself and a way of life. They are the perfect team as regards structure, balance and of course style. Real can spend all the money they want, they will never get the style and perfect football that Barcelona have and will never be successful if they don't get stability and structure like Barcelona.
